6 word memoir #2

Pretty self explanatory. I’m not saying I thought a highschool relationship would be important and perfect. But I thought It would be better. The real thing is way different than what the media portrays. Love is messy and confusing. And timing is everything. I’ve learned not to take young love too seriously. Because we are still finding ourselves, and that’s the most important thing. Honestly, it was messy because we were young going into it. Any teenager who says their relationship will last forever needs to face reality. Sure forever is the ultimate goal, but it’s limiting and unrealistic.

  1. Reblogged this on darien james and commented:
I think the media has a lot to do with the way we perceive the world to be, and thus our expectations for our own experiences. With an advertisement’s photo-shopped, airbrushed perfection in our heads as the ideal reality, real life becomes disappointing and full of misery. This false advertising is something I’m nonplussed with and something I would like to see change in my lifetime.
